A study on Human Rights and Disability

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights has designed a project to provide a conceptual framework for the recognition of the human rights dimension of disability and to assist the High Commissioner for Human Rights in raising international and national commitment on the issue of disability.

The first outcome of the project is the publication of a commissioned study on human rights and disability which makes an "inventory" and evaluation of existing human rights standards and institutions in the field of disability and proposes options for the future.

The study was publicly presented at 14 January 2002.
